Best Dressed: Grammys 2016

The 58th Annual Grammy Awards were jam-packed with some of the most stylish men in music and entertainment. Unlike the more traditional and staid black tie events like the Oscars, the Grammy’s Red Carpet is a much more daring and dramatic affair. While outlandish dresses (and whatever Lady Gaga is wearing) often rule carpet, we’re always keeping our eyes peeled to see what the gentlemen of the music world are wearing to grab some of the spotlight. Here’s our favorite menswear looks from this year’s Grammy Awards.

1. James Bay
Nominated for best new artist of the year, James Bay is blazing onto the music scene and is making sure his style keeps up with his movement up the fame ladder. For this year’s red carpet James decided to go with timeless black velvet tuxedo coat paired with a white dress shirt and standard sized bow-tie. His rockstar-length long hair and fedora hat added just the right amount of rocker cool and combined with a slick pair of chelsea boots, Bay proved that formalwear can be just as cool as denim and a t-shirt.

2. Big Sean
Want to see how Sammy Davis Jr. might dress in 2016? Check out Big Sean’s impeccable white dinner jacket look. He mixed perfectly-fitted tailoring with just the right amount of “I don’t give a shit” attitude by keeping the shirt unbuttoned low and rocking a smooth pair of Guiseppe Zanotti bit-style patent leather loafers.

3. Mark Ronson
The guy behind one of the hottest songs of the year “Uptown Funk”, Ronson hit the carpet in one of menswears hottest color combos, navy & black. Already a style superstar in his own right, Ronson rocked a navy pinstripe sportcoat paired with black trousers and a black scoop crew-neck tee-shirt. Highlighting one of our current favorite trends, mixing high and low, Ronson’s look proved that dressing up a t-shirt is not only Grammy-ready but one of the coolest ways to look dapper in 2016.

4. Miguel
The smoothest of the smooth, this RnB superstar hit the Red Carpet like a true rock-star. Rocking a bold, black pinstripe suit paired with a crisp white dress shirt, Miguel added his own juice to this outfit by keeping the shirt open and accessorizing with the right amount of bling and tattoos. This is how you do classic black and white in a show-stopping way.

5. The Weeknd
Another RnB superstar just crushing the carpet in the style department, Abel Tesfaye went old school cool with a sharp all-black everything tuxedo look. Like James Bay, he proved that formalwear doesn’t have to be stuffy or boring, this is how to mix old and new in just the right way. Obviously accessorizing with Bella Hadid definitely helps too.
