Best Dressed: Oscars 2016

Although we watch the Oscars to see which of our favorite actors will take home the Academy Award, we also tune in to get a glimpse at the our favorite dudes donning their best black tie. From traditional silhouettes to quirky renditions of the classic suit, this year’s Oscars was all about celebrities embracing their own personal style - transforming the red carpet into the most fashionable, dapper runway. These guys definitely gave the ladies a run for their money.

Leonardo DiCaprio
DiCaprio finally took home an Oscar for his performance in The Revenant, and he did it all in style! The actor wore a custom Giorgio Armani suit that was tailored to perfection, and a pair of shiny Christian Louboutin shoes. A matching black bow tie set off the entire look to give DiCaprio our seal of approval. Leo always looks outstanding but there was a little bit of something extra there tonight.

Chris Rock
As the host of the evening, it was crucial for Chris Rock to not only set the mood with his opening monologue, but he knew he needed to look as dapper as possible while tending to his hosting duties. The actor and comedian almost single-handedly made the case for the “dinner jacket” when he opted for a crisp, white Burberry jacket paired with timeless black tux trousers. Maybe he and Leo shared shoe shopping tips and an Aunt Annie’s pretzel when they went shoe shopping earlier in the day, because Rock also paired his suit with some of Louboutin's finest.

Mark Ruffalo
Ruffalo ditched the standard black tux and brought some life and color to the Oscars. The actor donned a blue Valentino tuxedo jacket with some bold black trim. The color was muted enough to not completely stand out, but it looked refreshing amidst a sea of black. Paired with patent leather shoes, Ruffalo gave new life to standard red carpet attire.

Eddie Redmayne
Redmayne’s becoming just as revered for his impeccable black tie style as he is for his acting chops. He wore a sleek velvet jacket by Alexander McQueen and the fit of his overall look was exceptional, definitely one of the best of the night. The detailing of the jacket included satin lapels - an added elegant touch of sophistication. Glance down at his feet and you’ll see he completed the look with some matching velvet loafers. Dapper indeed.

Michael B. Jordan
He wasn’t nominated (a crying shame if you ask us) but dude killed the red carpet, just like he has been doing all awards season. Jordan rocked a flawless DB tux from Ralph Lauren Purple Label that featured and exaggerated lapel for some extra swag. As with pretty much everything else he’s nailed on the red carpet this year, the Creed star proved that perfect tailoring, a winning smile, and a dose of confidence can take you all the way.

Pharrell Williams
It wouldn’t be a best dressed list without Pharrell Williams, and the rapper and producer didn’t disappoint when it came to tweaking the status quo. Pharrell always dresses to the beat of his own vibe and you gotta respect his individuality and even if no one else jumps on the bandwagon, at least we know he will always be there to push the style envelope. Williams showed off his ankle-flashing trousers (sans socks, of course) to put the fashionably reserved to shame.
